Parabens - Myth or Fact
THE MYTH - Parabens should be avoided
THE FACTS
Parabens are used as a preservative to prevent microbial growth - one of the biggest public health risks in cosmetics.
They are derived from para-hydroxybenzoic acid which occurs naturally in fruit and vegetables such a blueberries, goosberries, carrots and cucumbers.
Chemists like them as they have good safety data and good skin tolerance, frequently winning non-allergen awards
Due to the media providing misleading and scare-mongering information, parabens are now one of the most studied ingredient classes. These many studies conclude their safety for use in cosmetics.
‘Clean’ preservatives that brands claim are in their cosmetics have noticeably less scientific studies, higher skin irritation and more allergen risks!
The doses in cosmetics due to regulations means that no ingredient can be ‘unsafe’.
A common phrase is ‘the dose makes the poison’. Even chemicals water and oxygen can be toxic if too much is ingested in the body.

Cancellation Policy
IF ANY APPOINTMENTS ARE CANCELLED WITH LESS THAN 48 HOURS NOTICE, APPOINTMENT COSTS WILL BE INCURRED AS FOLLOWS.
Appointments can only be made and secure if a 50% booking fee has been paid.
Booking fees are non-refundable but if appointments are rescheduled outside of my 48 hour cancellation window, the fee will be transferred to your next appointment.
If appointments are cancelled within my 48 hour cancellation window, your 50% booking fee will be forfeited and will not be transferred to future bookings.
Failure to turn up to appointments without notice will incur a further 50% fee (totalling 100%) and new appointments will not be made until this fee is paid.
